High HP S2k's are turbo/SC'd. You don't have high HP NA S2000's w/o major engine modification that render intake comparisons meaningless. The people that do NA builds are doing it mostly because they love tweaking, modifying, and personalizing- not really with the expectation of significant gains. The intake is one of the simpler mods to do and looks flashier when you pop the hood. Plus, it can have a major effect on the sound of the car, which is another important characteristic to most people.

Being FWD, the location of the airbox for the H22 isn't ideal for airflow, and the flow path is long and winding. Honda didn't take the time to optimize the design and tuning, because they were too busy with the F20. The airbox in the S is front and center with much more direct air flow.
You don't see many real N/A F20's because the s2k is tuned to a god like level from the factory, right? Their are ALOT of all-motor honda motors over 300whp, some even on pump gas, yet the F20 just can't do it with an even higher flowing head.

What does an H22 air box have to do with an s2k air box? 2 different factory intake set-ups. But once tuned/modified, they'll share a lot of the same principals(an engine is an engine, just different variables). This was my point. I personally see the whole intake side being a restriction. The air box is restrictive(small little hole for air to flow, small TB and a manifold that literally chokes the motor(back of plenum is to close to the runners).

With my personality, I see every bad thing and try to make it better. Somethings just can't be fixed though; like 99.9% of woman lol

Here are some of a OEM intake with K&N filter vs the FIPK and AUT cooling plate.

Has anyone tried the Dry Flow air filter? No oil to mess with.

I run this air filter on my supercharged 3.8L and have over 200k on it.
