Air-Condition operation on/off?
Hello all,
My air-conditioning is doing something rather strange but perhaps it is normal and I am not used to it.
When I turn the air-con on, the air coming in is dry and cold and the compressor is "on" and working fine. However, after a little while I can smell the air coming in because it is no longer dry, it is humid. Now the compressor is off. This lasts for about 30" and as soon as you can tell the difference in cabin temperature the compressor comes back on, the air is dry again and the temperature drops again.
This goes on, and on, and on.. About 30" on, 30" off. Is this normal? I am sure all other cars I have driven did not allow humid air to enter when the air-con was on. I do not know if the compressor was on all the time (probably not) but the air coming is was always dry and had the same temperature.
Is there something wrong? My Honda dealer said there is nothing wrong, but they had never noticed this before and they will ask to see if anyone knows something more.
Has anyone noticed this?
Thanx,
Michael

This has been metioned many time on here, they all do this evidentally. I carried mine back after I got it for this very thing and they called Honda and they also said it was normal for the S2k. This is the only thing I dislike about the S.

Mine does it too. 2003 Silverstone with 2800 miles.
Nothing wrong. When the compressor "cuts" you feel this humidity. It really happens in all cars, it just gets amplified on this one for some reason... Poor insulation from soft top?
