Default Air Con light just blinks

I don't understand it. Suddenly my A/C stops working and the lights for the fan speed just keeps blinking. And when I don't have the A/C pressed, the fan light doesn't blink?

Any ideas?

Sounds like an electrical issue with the climate control panel. Probably best to take it in to a shop.

There is a self diagnostic for the HVAC in the Helms manual.

How to retrieve an HVAC DTC.

1.) Set the mode control dial to vent. (far left)
2.) Turn the ignition on.
3.) Within 5 seconds after turning the ignition switch on, press the recirculation control switch the required number of times depending on the recirculation indicator status:

If the indicator is ON, press the recirculation control switch 5 times.
If the indicator is OFF, press the recirculation control switch 6 times.

The recirculation indicator will come on for 2 seconds, Then blink the Diagnostic Trouble Code to indicate a faulty component. If no DTC's are found, the indicator will not blink after the initial 2 second light.

HVAC DTC's

HVAC DTC 1.) A problem with the air mix control motor circuit.
HVAC DTC 2.) A problem in the mode control motor circuit.
HVAC DTC 3.) A problem in the blower motor circuit.
HVAC DTC 4.) A problem in the evaporator temperature sensor circuit.

*in case of multiple problems, the recirculation indicator will indicate only the DTC with the least number of blinks.
*in case of intermittent failure, the heater control panel will store the DTC until the ignition is turned off.

When the panel is in the self diag mode the recirculate light flashes, not the fan speed switch lights.

I just thought it might be worth a try to put it in self diag mode.

Thanks for the info.....it's odd how it just stopped blowing cold air.... I tried the test and no errors.

I've brought it into one shop before and he said there is something wrong with the AC control. I was told that if I replaced the AC/Fan control unit the AC will work or if I hooked up a small switch to replace the OEM AC button. Of course I didn't have him replace it since that parts costs quite a bit...I'm not much of a electronic guy so I guess I believe him....

I'm still in search for an AC unit right now to replace it and see if that works....
