with 4 qt new oil + no filter change + MELP.. he probably has around the recommended 5.2 qt.
The first problem was I couldn't get the oil filter off and my oil filter wrench has gone missing.

First, thanks for all the info and responses so far I really appreciate it.
An update, I drove with low revs around the neighborhood and then to work. I drove a little longer to try and bring the oil up to temperature without revving it. I pulled the stick out there and no bubbles. It was a slow day at work, so I called a local mechanic and my race motor builder to enlighten myself further. They both came to the same conclusion, the position of the oil filter was the cause of the bubbling. With it being above the crankcase and not being taken off there could have been air suspended in the oil inside it that worked its way into the case and came out on the stick. Upon driving it, even the small distance to my upper driveway (300 feet) was enough to work them out. They both said that changing the oil now would be a waste of money and not benefit anything. I guess I'll leave it in until I become paranoid enough to change it.
I'll agree alot of additives are pointless but the lack of moly in Mobil 1 is a known fact, and I believe the factory Honda oil has a relatively high moly content so I use an additive to make up for the deficiency(sp?) in Mobil 1. I usually use Mr. Moly but didn't have any left and heard Valvoline MLEP would be a good substitute.
Thanks again,
Will

Valvoline Synpower Oil Treament in 15 oz bottle has a lot more Moly than MLEP, according to Virgin Oil Analysis: http://theoildrop.server101.com/ubb/ultima...c;f=11;t=000297
I use VSOT in my 3 cars: 1994 LS400 with more than 160k miles, 2000 E430 with 72k miles and 2004 S2000 with 14k miles. I can feel the different in the engine smoothness of the LS400, but can not feel anything different of the other two cars.
Gas mileage of all 3 cars improved about 3% to 5% on average. LS400 was below 15mpg for as long as I own the car, after using VSOT gas mileage went up to 17mpg average for the last 10k miles. E430 was 18-18.5 mpg before and 18.8-19.2 mpg now. S2000 was 21.5-22.0 and 22.0-23.0 now.
LS400 consumes about 1/2 quarts every 3k miles after 60k miles, with VSOT the oil consumption reduced to 1/2 quarts 6k miles. The other 2 cars did not use any oil between oil chances before and after using VSOT.
From my little experiences with 3 cars, VSOT probably is best for high mileage cars. I bought several bottles at Pepboys for use in the next oil changes for all 3 cars.
