Default aftermarket springs

I would like to lower my02 maybe an inch. My question is: If I buy springs to lower no more than an inch, can i still use stock shocks (now and future) or would i need to start using aftermarket shocks also?

You can, but eventually the stock struts will wear out because of the springs, it's up to you.

They'll work for now, but will wear out much more quickly. I've also heard that although lowering your car on otherwise stock suspension will make you FEEL better handling, but in actuality the car will be slower around the track. It all depends why you want to lower the car...looks or performance.

thanks guys.
yes, i have heard that if you only lower using springs only, it doesn't necessarily help handling. I have never been to the track and don't know that I will (although I would like to someday), so mine is for daily driving.. so i guess looks is probably 80% of the reason.. but if it causes me to put more money in shocks and/or struts faster, i may have to pass..

Get some Swift springs, it wont wear the struts out THAT much more, then when they go (which they eventually will) switch to coilvers!

I would not take what some people have said sofar to seriously.
Your car is a 2002. Your struts have already gone through some wear and tear.
If you put lowering springs on your car with your 4 year old struts, your struts more then likely will wear out or blow a seal right away. If your car/struts are 1 year old or less then they will last longer......your choice, Ive never understood the point of changing springs without changing the struts....its just ghetto IMO

sorry to take over your thread but someone else might also have this problem. i have a MY01 with 27000 miles on it. i just changed to espelir asd springs about 1000 miles ago. for about the first 400 miles they were nice and perfect but for the last 600 or so miles the right rear (i think) is squeeking/creeking whenever i get in the car, go over bumps in the road (big or small) and go up driveways etc. im wondering what the problem is. i already took them off again to check if they were seated right and they were so now im just wondering what the problem is.
