I'm running the stock pump with the UR turbo kit. With 600 cc injectors and 9 psi of boost, I have no problem keeping the A/F at 10.8. I know this is too low with water injection, but I am still in the tuning phase. So what am I missing here? If the stock pump can supply enough fuel for such a low A/F, why upgrade?

The stock fuel pump will support up to 380 hp at the flywheel. I am planning on a bit over 400 hp. There have been a few tuners that have destroyed their engines because the stock flow rate was inadequate. So for about $100 and some time for the install its definitely worth it to change the stock fuel pump if you are looking for high hp.

I think the most prudent approach is to use your dyno data to compute brake specific fuel consumption (B.S.F.C) for your setup and then to use this to calculate the required flow rates needed to support your HP goals. The AEM manual "EFI Basics" has some great guidance for doing these calculations and selecting components like fuel pumps. You can download the manuals, I think, from the AEM Forum without being a member, but I may be wrong. In any case, Blue is right -- starve your engine and you'll have the distinct pleasure of watching it go boom....
