Default aftermarket fuel gauge

Guys,

I hate the fuel gauge in my S because it always seems off. Sometimes I get 250 miles to a tank, sometimes 270, then sometimes 220 and I can’t stand it. I was thinking about buying an aftermarket fuel gauge that will show me either how many gallons I have OR how many miles I have left of the tank of gas. Any suggestions and is this hard to install in the car? I looked around at other threads but couldn’t find much on this particular topic.

I think this is more a result of how you drive from tank to tank, not the fuel gauge or sender.

Yeah but i wanna see how much i have in terms of gallons. There are a few aftermarket digital gauges that the sites say will work but im not sure if thats really the case.

fuel gauge has absolutely nothing to do with how many miles you get per tank.

miles per tank = miles driven on tank / fill up gallons. Use trip odometer to measure, and reset every time you fill up.

The S2K fuel gauge definitely loses accuracy as the tank gets lower, but that's an issue with the sensor, not your gauge so the problem would continue.
