aftermarket final drive ratio
Not sure if this is the right location for this thread but:
Been a long time since I've posted anything on this site. Hope you're all well. I've had my (Sherwin's) S2K garaged for 2 years and recently brought it out of mothballs and wanted to see if it was a reasonable car to drive semi-frequently.
Anyways: Sherwin changed the final drive ratio and it's unbearable for a car that is going to be driven around town, though it's awesome for a track car (I'm using my BRZ for track duty, I can't see abusing my brother's car like that). The speedometer is WAY off and cruising on the freeway is at almost 5000rpm.
All the original parts are gone, and frankly I don't even know what he did exactly. Speedometer reads 82mph when real speed is 70. This is all I know in terms of what "gears" he put in the car.
Any ideas how to reverse this? I guess I'm willing to trade for someone's stock gears as long as it isn't too much of a hassle
