Default After Valve adjustment - HP loss

I adjusted the valves on the weekend for the very first time - 2005 Honda s2000 with 114K miles on it. When I took the valve cover off and measured the clearance almost all exhaust valves were tighter then OEM spec. The intake valves were almost in spec but were on the looser side. I adjusted EV-.010 - IV.08 double checked and triple checked.

Before the adjustment the car run smooth you wouldn't have thought it needed a valve adjustment. After the adjustment the engine sounded quieter then before but it feels I lost some power in the low end range around 2-4K rpm. I don't drive hard but I can still notice the difference. Should I be concerned?

There are no leaks, ticks, or anything out the ordinary just the loss of the low end power.

Not a very helpful reply but I had a similar problem after a local shop did the adjustment for me. I'm not sure what exactly it was but they did have to adjust something so sounds like it will need further attention. It was fine after a few tweeks.

I vote: In your head

As long as there in Spec, I won't worry about it

I hope your right. I just resetted my ECU by taking off the negative cable for the battery, I do this often with positive outcomes.

that was going to be my next suggestion....reset the ECU so it can learn the new parameters with the adjustment and it should be good to go...report back and let us know how it goes

Reset your ecu by pulling the proper fuse under the driver side. Not by pulling the battery.
