Valve adjustment and spark plugs.

The valves being off depends on your motor and how hard you drive it.

Yes I did them myself and it was a pain in the butt. The clearances were off from .001 to .003 if I remember correctly. It idles so much smoother it is unreal. My brother who had a s2k also noticed the difference right away.

jojipoji,
Did you use the special tool that is available? How cold was the engine-was it driven that day? I am doing mine very soon. Just want to know as much as I can before I start.

Change the spark plugs,
Clean the Throttle body and butterfly
Clean the IAC(Idle Air Controller)
Add some fuel injector cleaner
Clean your Air filter
Adjust valves

And then Reset your ECU

Your car will run like a champ



Someone tell me how changing tranny fluid, diff fluid and brake fluid can smooth out idle????/

The same way that installing one of those "Turbo-blades" in the intake will reduce 6th gear engine revs at 60 mph. (real testamony from a satisfied user)
