AEM version 1 intake install help

Default AEM version 1 intake install help

hey guys. i have a used aem version 1 intake and would like to install it but dont have the instructions for removing the stock intake and putting the new one on... does anyone have instructions for the AEM v1 intake install and stock intake removal? also, i would like your help on how to clean the intake because its kind of dirty inside and out and would like to give it a good wash. how do i clean the piping and the filter?

hey guys.. forgot to ask 1 more question. what can i do to prevent hydrolocking with this intake? do i plug some hole or is that only for AEM v2 intake?

You can either make an umbrella to install over the filter, or don't park in the rain.

bypass valve... but then 0 hp gains your call, i've had no problems.. my cars out parked in rain right now

I think the install instructions are on AEM's site, they are on the web for sure, that is where I got mine.

Don't forget to plug the holes under the hood along the fender mounting rail. These holes allow water to drain directly on the filter element. I used some plastic plugs I got at Home Depot for an oem look, although tape will work.

The two blackdots, lined up vertically in the center of the picture are where the two hole that need to be plugged are. Otherwise rain water drains through the holes and pours directly on the filter.

I don't remember what size plugs I used, but got them at the hardware store.

As far as instructions go.....I managed to get the actual instructions from AEM....MacGuyvers instructions are pretty good, especially the hose info, but I could fax the instructions from AEM if you want. I didn't take my bumper off.

Use one of those drill type saws to cut the hole in the wheel well. It make life easier

cub, could water flow through under the headlight? i noticed on mine there is a small gap.
