Default aem v2 install questions

hey guys- will I need to cut the car to install this cia? Is there a system that offers the performance of this one, but without the danger of running in the wet?

Yes, you will need to cut a small piece of the inner passenger fender with the V2. With any real CAI that actually gets colder air from the bottom of your bumper you will have a chance of Hydrolocking your engine with, but you would have to completely SUBMERGE the filter. If you simply drive in the rain you will be fine. Also, if you decide to get a V2 make sure that you plug up the drain hole on the passenger side rain channel under the hood to prevent water from accumulating in the bottom of the intake pipe when the car sits in the rain. If you do a search you should come up with all the info you will ever want to read about this intake on the S2K as this topic has been beaten to death several hundred times before. Hope this helps you out. -Michael.
