Default AEM V2 Cold Air duckbill valve thread

So I found the part number for it. My mechanic either did not install is when he put the intake on or I lost it. I had the hole where the valve goes covered with duct tape ever since because I did not know about the whole V2 intake "Version 2" duckbill valve design.

Don't know what I'm talking about? See THIS THREAD

Anyhow, for those of you missing the valve, you can now obtain it.

Part number is 8-145. I will post pics when I get it since the guy that posted the original pics no longer has 'em available in that thread. I also got the Pre-Filter filter cover from AEM, will post pics of that as well.

Some background:
This came up after driving in the rain for the first time w/ the AEM V2. I decided to inspect the intake and found the 'hole' were the duckbill valve goes and started my research. I know that both this valve and the Pre-Filter cover don't completely eliminate the risk of hydro-lock, but they can help reduce it from water splashes. I don't agree on getting rid of the intake just cause of the rain.

Good info, auto shop lost mine and I just gave up on buying one cause it was a hassle to get one from AEM. I've been thinking bout selling my AEM V2, since its just sitting in the house.

Thanks. Sorry to hear that bro. All it took for me was a phone call to AEM and they took my order over the phone. Got it the next day.

Hmm, I'll have to check and see if mine has the hole and the valve.

It was on the car when I got it used 7 months ago. I converted the V2 to a short ram cause I was sick and tired of the filter getting soaked, and then the engine sucking up the water, everytime I washed the car. No matter how careful I was.

^^^ Gotta tape up the two drain holes so water won't drain down the hood onto the filter. After taping both holes when I still had my V2 install, I never had any problems starting up after a wash

This is true. Sorry I've seen this after a year. I'll revive this thread

I made a custom carbon fiber piece to cover these holes on the passenger fender. Pics soon.

You can use a rubber stopper from any hardware store to plug those holes as well. Very easy and cheap...
