Default AEM V1 or V2?

Does anyone have any comments on wheather the AEM V1 or V2 makes more power? Based on the horsepower curves AEM had on their website it appears the V1 makes more power than the V2 at almost every RPM. But AEM recently pulled the power curves from their website and the V2 was supposed to be engineered for more power. What's up?

I am very happy with the V2. The sound is awesome. Feels like more power, but I don't have any paperwork to back that up.

AEM used to have dyno charts on their website for the S2000. Both V1 and V2. They've since took them off.

well i can't speak for the v2 but this is my 2nd AEM CAI v1. i was impressed with it on my '98 prelude and even more impressed with it on my current '00 s2k.

i just installed the v1 myself this past weekend. all i can say is that it sounds overwhelmingly aggresive when in vtec. at idle, it sounds fairly stock with the exception of a faint high pitch sound resembling a commercial plane before take off. when shifting below vtec, i've noticed a much more distinct high pitch sound. i'm not sure if it's noticable to other drivers on the road but i can definitely hear it when trying to listen for it.

as far as the gains go, this is my only performance mod and i have not had it dyno'd. however, i've noticed that the throttle is much more responsive and that the car is just quicker overall. i would not be surprised if it did put down 6whp at the least. i also have to mention that i accidentally cut out a piece of plastic during my install which i probably shouldn't have (not the same piece the instructions say to cut). i'm sure this has led to better gains but once it rains, i know i'm SOL. right now i'm in the midst of trying to figure out how to make a custom airbox for the filter. anyways, that's my review for the v1. good luck with your decision.
