Default Aem v1 not reading knock sensor voltage

I have a turbo setup on aem v1. It was tuned recently but wasn't logging any knock volts. I check if it's plugged in and there was no sensor (removed by previous owner). I ordered a new one and plugged it in. Aem still sees no knock raw or volts. No breaks in wire from ecu to sensor, and the sensor was bench tested and works. It's not an oem sensor but does register volts on a multimeter when tested.

Does the aem v1 need a signal amplifier to get it to read volts from that sensor?
I'm not sure what to check next.
