Default AEM intake installed, I think i lost power

I got home last night about 1130 with nothing to do so i decided to put in my new intake. after about and hour and a half i got it done. So i went for a ride and i swear it felt slower. Now i know i wouldnt gain a bunch of power. but i didnt think i would lose any. It might have all just been in my head, can some of you guys give me your resaults or mabe even dyno charts if anybody has dynoed the aem

thanks

Did you forget to cut the opening into the air filter compartment?

There shouldn't be much of a difference in power, but the added noise could make it seem slower, depending on your mood.

If you did cut an opening for the intake, you could be noticing a difference in throttle response and not an actual lack of power.

If you're sure you did the install correctly (and aren't missing a sock), try disconnecting the battery for a minute or so and then reconnecting it. This resets all the previous air/fuel data from the cpu.

What you may be noticing is the smoother transition into VTEC. The intake adds a bit more power all around the transition point, so the jump doesn't seem quite as extreme. This has the perceived effect of loss of power, but it's there.

Yeah that seems very weird that you would notice a butt dyno power loss.....

I never cut the opening (wanted protection against snow and water)... and mine feels like it gained a bit of power.

So your air comes in through the tiny little cracks between the plastic pieces? I can't see that performing too well.
