i have the v2 no problems what so ever just avoid huge puddles and things like that and you will be ok

Damn, any chance the comptech could suck up any water, i notice that after i wash the car, theres usually some water in the bottom of the airbox.

The old V2's used to have issues with water getting trapped in the intake pipe because of the way it bends. The newer ones have a one way drain valve in that low point know which prevents it. I've had both on my car and haven't had a problem with the new version.

Also just fyi you can't run an air bypass valve on the V2.

You'll be fine using an AEM V2 in cali! This aint Florida. The V2 comes with a drain hole just in case. Dont get the bypass valve though, cuz u dont need it and will prevent some airflow.

no not at all, the hole is around a quarter inch wide

Drain hole? This is new. I will check it on my AEM V2 which is at home. Not using it anymore, got the J's intake, throttle response is amazing. Not much gains but yes you can feel the throttle response.

We get lot of dust here (Sand) and cleaning the V2 is a pain to remove bumper everytime and specially when you need to cut the inner fender shield for the pipe you allow mud, sand everything inside where the filter is located.

Also I side note. I heard the stock airbox/snorkel combo is ok in any weather because the stock box is designed to drain water...wish i had the thread link seems to me that a stock box with no mods would be ok with the snorkel unless fording a stream or something serious
