Snorkle so far works the best, use stock air box and add a snorkle to it which can be easily removed when it rains, you can still use our car. a drop in filter can be an add on.

in my experience, you're fine if you hit puddles. puddles aren't a problem...it's only when you try and cross a river (mid-wheel high water that submerges the filter) that you'll have a problem. which is what i went through.

luckily i got away with a spark plug and oil change, but it coulda been a lot worse. also, i am keeping the V2 on my car.

This is from an s2k with an AEM, the guy wasn't even driving. Melting snow filled the intake overnight. Blew the engine immediately on start-up.

^^ would it have made a difference if they had a V2 rather than a V1? since i've had mine on (late summer), i've driven through downpours and through lots and lots of snow. the car's also sat in all-day rain outside while i was at work, and started up fine. chicago's had some crazy weather in the last few months. haven't had any problems except for when i stupidly tried to make it through a flooded area.

i have the drain hole from the engine bay taped up, but no umbrella. also, i have a garage.
