Default AEM EMS Questions

Got my EMS today so I have some install questions?

What is the name of the BASE MAP i need to load?
I see Civic Prelude etc. But I do not see s2000.

Also what do I need to set the timeing to?
I loaded one map it was demo i think not sure prolly not the right one but anyway i went to start the car and the car acted like the battery was dead.

Everything I have done so far has gone no problem except the above.
I am not trying to tune it yet I just want to get it running.

Thanx for the help.
Anyone that might be of some help could you please pm me your contact number and tommarow i can drop you a call when i get going with this again.

Ok, I have the wideband sepreatly. i was looking at the one with it built in aswell. according to the instructions it looks like you replace your first o2 sensor on your exhaust manifold with the one provided and that basiclly how it works. I could be wrong please correct me someone.

Just visited thier forums again and took a look @ the sticky'd thread in the S2000 section. and it does just replace one of the stock sensors.

Would it be easy to switch back to the stock ECU?

Im thinking of going turbo and using the AEM EMS but I have to meet emissions.

To pass emissions Id have to switch back to my OBD2 computer and not have any CELs. Do you think this would be easy to do when using the AEM EMS?

i have a question as well on this, i've heard that you loose usage of some sensors like the temp on the stock gauge does not work anymore..is this so.....if so how do I get it to work? is it another accessory I need to purchase for the AEM to recognize?

thanks....

Here's the deal:

1012- old and no longer sold
1052- new, smaller, improved electronics
1052U- new, smaller, improved electronics, and built in WBO2
It may be worth it to consider a 1052 + external WBO2 (may be cheaper).

none of them drive the stock temperature gauge. Modifry sells an adapter that will drive the stock temperature gauge for 00-03 models.

I have a 1012 plus external WBO2. My car drives and starts like stock. I did have starting issues in extreme cold (0 degrees-30 degrees F) with the AEM cold start mapping, but I have redone all of my mapping and even with 650cc injectors it always starts now.

You richen up the fuel map in the software. I would highly suggest reading the included documentation (AEM Pro User Guide V2.0 and AEM EFI Basics V1.3) before installing or trying to tune your AEM. These will answer almost all of your questions and are INVALUABLE to the entire process.
