Default Aem Ems

I Know that the AEM EMS has been extensively discussed in the forum but, I would like to know Only from those of you who have used/ tuned/are currently using this product (NA or FI) what your end impression was/is? Basically the pros and cons. Only Constructive comments please. Thank You

Hams2000 just needs to create a tutorial now and sell it to AEM for their customers.

Hamms2000,
If I'm not mistaken, I read that you could expect approx. 20 RWHP on a stock S2000 setup just by installing/ tuning the EMS. IS this True? What gains did you see?

If you're not getting a MAJOR hookup at the tuner's shop it will cost you an arm and a leg to tune. I respect Hams opinion of the EMS, but I know it took him forever to get it running the way he wanted it. As for my car, we had so many problems getting the car up and running and making power, in a reasonable time frame, that we scrapped the project (the engine damage didn't help any either).

The system itself is very nice, but very complex. You're going to pay for it's intricacies one way or the other.

Edit: There have been many changes in the software since we tried to tune it on my car...these might make it easier to tune an S2000 - but this has not been proven to me yet.

I agree with Wes. It took me about two months of tuning daily off and on to get my car where it would drive almost stock. The EMS is not the type of setup where you just plug it in, load up a map, and drive off. It takes a lot of patience to get it right. The end product for me was nice in the end. If you have patience you will see the gains.

There is a new software interface (AEMPro) coming out within a couple weeks which is supposed to make it much easier to use, although the term easier is of course relative.

AEM Pro has been out for a while. They just keep updating the software working out the bugs. If you've never really tuned a car, I would stay away from it unless you have the money to pay someone who knows what they're doing to get it right.

OK, I guess I should have said a new version of AEM Pro.

Automapping is supposed to be fixed as well.
