AEM CAI install - how much time should I set aside to do it?
I'm pretty handy with tools and have worked on cars for quite a while. I'd like to know approx. how much time to put aside. I'll probably pull the front bumper assembly off for easier access.
Thanks!
Thanks!

I've said it before, pulling off the bumper is not necessary. I do recommend that you pull the passenger-side radiator fan (two bolts and an electrical clip), which will give you a good bit more room to work with. That being said, I'd set aside two to three hours if you haven't done before and know what you're doing. The hardest parts for me were removing the hoses (they didn't want to budge) and figuring out how to get the lower bushing/mount to line up.

i had mine done in an hour and a half if you know cars and your good with tools it shouldn't be hard for you. pellis is right you don't need to take off the front, but the fan does make it alot easier when its out. just be careful with the screws when taking them out they are on pretty tight and you don't want to strip them. other than that i think its simple, i thought cutting took the most time for me. cutting the plastic trays was a bit*h but hey its worth it. as far as the hoses go they don't come off easy, just take a flat head screw driver and slide it under the hose and run it all the way around the hose that should loosen the conection. have fun ru2k if you have any problems pm me i'll help you out

set aside 2 hours or so. NOTHING needs to com off the car but the stock air box. install the CAI and use a sharp box cutter to cut the trays under the car. I put the CAI on first then cut from under the car. nothing fancy

i did it last night...took me about 1.5 - 2 hours...with nothing removed except the plactic under tray. i used a dremel to cut that plactic in the wheel well.
make sure you get your vacuum hoses right...i messed up mine somewhere....i think i have the check valve on backwards. i will fix it when i get home from work.

depends what kinds of tools you have and how much of a perfectionist you are when you cut the plastic trays. took me 3 hrs, subtract 30 minutes because aem decided they wanted to make things difficult and send me a wrong sized hose. be sure you use tie wraps around the hoses that attach to the sensor. i had one fall of and the check engine light came on. heres a tip for you all if you you haven't done it already. drill holes in that left grill to provide more airflow or get a grill for it and take out the plastic. it gave me better gas mileage.

just becareful
1)not to cross your vacuum lines,
2)make sure AEM gave you the proper vacuum hose 3mm 1/8".
3)put on the check valve on the same way.
or else you'll be getting that annoying check engine light.
