Default AEM CAI & Check Engine Light

I just had the AEM CAI installed by a certified Honda mechanic. I picked it up and went straight to work and everything was fine, no lights. When I started it after work the CEL did not go off after a few seconds. It was on for the drive home, 8mi. I checked all the hoses, everything was tight. Has anyone had this happen and if so what did you do? I will be calling the shop first thing today. My S is a 04 and to see the CEL on made me sick

sounds like your vacuum hosing could have been installed wrong.

I'll tell you what it is. It's the plastic piece that connects that 2 hoses down at the bottom by the metal cross bar. If it's backwards it won't create a vacuum. It's a one way tube. Anyway. Just flip it around and you won't get the CEL.

The one way portion is actually the small white checkvalve...the black piece is two way.

is everything the same along the intake on the 04, as you said yours is an 04, as the 00-03's? If so then it can only really be what the other members have suggested, not only the check valve thing, but make sure he routed both hoses to the correct places, I believe having them reversed would also throw a light.
