AP1 short block assembly is no longer available.

The bare block is available I think. Still some major labor to build, and the builder must be competent in FRM build processes.

I'm going to start looking soon...It seemed to have started leaking oil from around the TCT bolts very heavily about a week before CEL came on and accidentally ran the car a quart low on oil before I noticed the leak (good thing I had to refill washer fluid or I never would've noticed the leak). oil starved during hard cornering maybe or maybe a failed banjo bolt as early ap1s are known to have

got the car back from the mechanic yesterday...the crank play is well within spec but cylinder 2 is trashed as previously stated...

compression numbers:
cyl 1: 188psi
cyl 2: 130psi
cyl 3: 185psi
cyl 4: 183psi

leak down results:
cyl 1: 12%
cyl 2: 40%
cyl 3: 14%
cyl 4: 15%

He said during leak down there was so much air rushing around rings on cylinder 2 that it whistled...He removed oil pan and visually inspected thrust washers and rod bearings and they were ok...he said he isn't sure where the glitter in the oil came from but he thinks its material from cylinder wall. I'm honestly not sure if I want to park the car and cover it until I have time to either sleeve/bore motor, swap the motor, or if I want to sell the car as is...going to have to sleep on this one for a week or two.

Meanwhile, how unsafe is the car to drive occasionally? Am I just asking to get stranded somewhere if I drive it?

Its in the thread. He didn't know he had an oil leak, ran low on oil, hard cornering, blown motor.

But yeah, that scenario you'd think would result in a rod bearing, not toasted cylinder.
