Pay a good mechanic to do it. It will save your hands and back and keep you happy when it's done.

If not, wear gloves, get some long extensions and do the thermostat at the same time since it is right there. Take your time and don't kill your back or dent your fenders.

Good luck.

I agree with the above! If you choose to do it like I did, label all the hoses with tape to prevent hooking up the wrong one. I have a local friend who ended up hooking up a coolant line to a vaccum coonection and ended up sucking coolant out of one of his cylinders with a straw

There is a thread somewhere in the database here that gives you a good idea of what tools you need such as a 12 mm swivel head socket, extentions, etc....

Overall it wasn't that bad!

- wow, sideways is right on point...
- lets see.. I did this twice (well, take off manifold twice) and both times I managed to:
a) fuuck up my hands/wrists
b) fuuck up my back, hurt for a couple days
c) fucck up my fender (dents)

- you may ask "how will you dent your fender"? well for me, after an hour or so I got 'lazy' and started resting my elbows and shit on the fender.. I do have those mats that lay on the fender, but that only helps for scratches...

I've done a couple. Off the top of my head...you need 1/4 size extensions in 3,6 and 10" lengths, torque wrench, blue loctite, coolant, dremmel or some type of grining tool to lengthen the manifold support bracket holes, label all hoses and connectors, those 2 special washers on the fuel dampener, mechanic's gloves, and above all....patience.
