Default Adjusting TPS Sensor on Aftermarket Throttlebody

I've been running a J's Racing throttlebody for a few months on my ap1. When I first got the throttle body the idle was very inconsistent in cold start up conditions. I found that adjusting the TPS sensor downwards helped with that issue. When running my scanguage I have found the following range of readings. If I adjust the TPS sensor all the way down it reads 1 percent fully closed and 86 percent fully opened. If I adjsut the TPS sensor all the way upwards it reads 11 percent fully closed and 96 percent fully open. In a mid position it will read about 5 percent fully closed and 90 percent fully open.

Anyone have a general recommendation on how I should run the TPS sensor based on settings, should I try to get it as close to zero on closed position (reducing the fully open reading), or as close to 100 percent fully open (increasing the fully closed reading), or a mid-point setting ?. It seems to be compromise either way I go as I can't get zero percent closed with 100 percent open. I've tested it at both extremes and it doesn't through any CEL's, the idle is affected at some settings, throttle response seems to be affected slightly but it is hard to tell exactly. Thanks for any replies and thanks for reading.

did you find a solution? mines 5% closed and 89% open would that affect the performance?

I adjusted mine exactly to the numbers you have on yours, so right about 5% at the closed position, and that gets you about 89 percent fully open. The car has run fine ever since. I found someone with a stock throttle body and they had the same setting so I adjusted mine to that reading. It's a compromise as you can't get it to read 0 at closed and you can't get it to read 100 at fully open so 5 and 89 seems about right. There is no effect on performance as the car goes fully rich at WOT regardless of the reading, but I was worried that it could be running overly rich if the idle setting was too high.

You can get it to read right with an aftermarket ecu. An aftermarket ecu will give you control over the tps input.

You don't want zero, then there is no wear compensation because the TPS will top-out.

After some time, the TB can wear to 4%, the ECU will learn this as closed.

4-7% is ideal.
