Default Adding oil pressure gauge

I am planning to add an oil pressure gauge. Can someone tell me what is the operating range of the oil pressure in the engine, from idle thru Vtec? How high does the pressure get in Vtec?

Thanks in advance

The pressure relief valve at your oil pump kicks in at about 95 psi, so you should not get any more than around 95 psi. You will be fine if you have a gauge with at least 100 psi max pressure.

The oil pressure actually drops at VTEC because of the additional oil flow due to the VTEC solenoid opening up. Your highest readings are likely to be with a cold engine, especially on cold days.
