act pressure plate+OEM disc = longer clutch life?
Hello Guys:
I am about to change my clutch kit, I searched and a lot of s2000 members recommend the ACT pressure plate + OEM disc .
I changed my OEM pressure and OEM clutch disc 15000 miles ago and my clutch is almost gone now
Will ACT pressure plate + oem disc last longer than OEM pressure + OEM disc? and why is this combo so well? Please Explain
Thank you very much and please help.

Honestly if the clutch is going out in 15,000 miles I really think its more driving habits that is causing the wear. Some members get 100k miles out of their OEM clutch setups.
Do you launch a lot, ride the clutch, etc? I'm NOT trying to insult you, just throwing out an idea because 15,000 seems VERY fast for clutch wear.

It has NOTHING to do with miles on the clutch... it is number of standing starts and shifts. It will last a million miles if you just drive on the highway with few shifts.
You may get a bit more out of the ACT as it could slip a little less but mechanically it is about the same. Just be sure that all is cleaned, lubed, and adjusted properly when installed and try to minimize slipping.
It is a pretty small clutch and shifts at 9000 rpm are not easy on it but I think hard standing starts or slipping on hills shortens the life most.

that setup should give you a little more life, but not enough to make you happy. As mentioned, the problem isn't the clutch setup, its your technique and/or the number of times you use it

Thank you all for the reply, now i kinda have an idea with that set up.
I used to have ACT HD pressure plate + ACT 6 puck clutch dics for autocross, but since i dont autocross anymore, i changed back to OEM clutch kit , but I guess I shouldn't drive my oem clutch kit like ACT 6 puck kit .
I like to take it to the 9000rpm when I enter the freeway and heel and toe when I turn all the time, but i dont launch my car hard at all, so maybe with my driving habit, I should go back with my act 6 puck set-up?
