Default ACT Clutch/flywheel Chatter

So here's the story.

I just had my clutch/flywheel installed today, and now there's this mechanical gear noise that is fairly loud whenever I'm in gear with no throttle input.

Even if I am engine braking, if there is the SLIGHTEST throttle input, even small enough that I'm still slowing down, the noise is not there.

The noise is most noticeable between about 2-3k rpms, and almost disappears if I am under 2k rpm.

The noise is only present when the clutch is FULLY engaged.

Is this normal? I wasn't expecting a huge amount of chatter... the engine is still silky smooth, and there is no noise at all if the clutch is fully disengaged...

yes if you go with the ACT disk you'll get clutch buzz. Thats why HardTopGuy sells his ACT packaged using the OEM disc from the ap2. No buzz, all the bite.

this is exactly what I experience with my SPEC clutch. does the ACT you used have 4 or 6 hub springs on the clutch disc?

apparently, discs with 6 springs will make that kind of noise on our cars. it's nothing to worry about as far as failure, but it's irritating as hell

I was under the impression that the ACT SS friction disk has more torque capacity than the OEM?

Plus, they're sold together

It can handle more TQ, but that means it's going to be less street friendly. How much HP you pushing?
