In case there is any confusion, when I said the shift rod may be bent, I was not referring to anything internal on the transmission. I meant the shift rods that connect the shift lever to the transmission case.
It is nos 12 and 13 on the link below.

I am thinking that the shift rod bent and cannot move the gears in the transmission. Normally, when you move the gear lever, it moves the rod that connects to the gear selector on the transmission and moves the gears back and forth. If the rod is bent, when you move the gear lever, it won't fully engage the gears on the transmission, hence the grinding in 2nd. This is just a theory of course. I would not know for certain until I got the car in the air. If it is the shift rods, changing them out is fairly simple and could probably be done in your driveway.

Sorry to hear this happened and hope you can get it figured out, good luck.

Just my 2¢, but it sounds like you may have an emotional problem that goes far beyond whatever is actually wrong with your car. That's not what you posted wanting to hear, but some hard introspection ought to be in order.

Just by the nature of starting this thread and honestly discussing what actually occurred, I would venture that there is already more than enough introspection occurring at this point. I hope this ends up being a relatively easy fix!

Please refrain from posting on topics you know nothing about. It would be useful to the community if you went back to both your posts in this thread and erased them, and replace with a note saying it was wrong information. We don't want people coming to this thread in the future and getting mislead.

Went up a curb and broke the trans? I don't think son I run huge curbs and go off road at the track at over 100mph. If anything it can be something in your rear end. If it was ur trans internally, your entire trans would not b useable. Ask me how I know. I have blown and rebuilt multiple trans.

How does driving over a curb on a track relate to a curb on a street?

What was the issue that needs rebuild ?
also another box would be better than a bad one for sure ,if that is whats needed.

Don't know. Did you ever find out what happened to the trans? There's nothing underneath that relates to shifting (concerning the trans itself).
So what broke?

Unless you've been trained in any aspect of mental health, STFU.
