Default accident + camber

Hey guys,

I was in an accident Tuesday. Some dude backed out his grand cherokee into my pass. side and got my fender, door, 1/4 panel, rear bumper and rear pass. wheel. It was about a 15-20 M.P.H. hit.

The car was driveable and I was on the way to school, so I just went after the cops came and all. Today while my friend was checking it out, ( I complained about my rear feeling loose) he got underneath and noticed that a little bit of thread is showing on the very inside of the rear tires. I can see more on the side where I got hit. I measured the tire depth and both tires show 5/32's in the middle treat. In NC, you need 2/32's to be legal.

Anyone ever been in an accident and had tires replaced due to something like this? I've driven about 400 miles since the accident. It's my daily.

I'm still waiting for the estimator to come out and look at the car, and am fretfull of having to spend 300+ bucks for tires prematurely.

any advice is appreciated!

Could be that the tire is unbalanced. It could also mean that somthing is out of alignment in the suspension. Im dealing with that in another thread. I had my lower rear drivers side control replaced, and the trailing arm and my camber is way off.

My front is screwed up too cause they cannot get the caster adjustment in spec either.

Does the car drive straight? Do you feel it pull to one side if you get on it?

be carefull with that question - I was rear ended last fall, and never bothered to have the alignment checked after the repairs. THe car drove perfect straight and never pulled in any direction.

Then my brand new right rear tire lasted 7000 kms (5000mi). Got the alignment checked and the toe was wayyyy out.

Have the alignment checked right away
