Sorry, this is my video but I have literally done nothing about it!

(I live in the UK so AC is not always needed sadly)

However, it's in for retainers and keepers and a review of the AC on the 16th so I will let you know. Strangely it's not making a noise now when engaged (Clutch is kicking in), but no noticeable cooling.

Hey Stoat!

Yeah I saw your video and asked you in the forums. I’ve been following you to see what you’ve done to fix it.

I thik my compressor might be toast? Im still getting the rattle but I also am not getting any cooling. I’ve tried moving the clutch by hand and I do feel some resistance when turning it. But that’s just my assumption.

gotta take it to my local machine and help me diagnose it.

No cooling and a knocking compressor, yep, it's kaput. ~$430 USD for a replacement, $800+ if you get it from Honda.

I guess my assumptions were right. Since I do have to change out the compressor out. Do I have to change out anything else?

I’ve been reading in the forums that I might need to change out the whole system because of shavings? Do I really need to do this in my case? Also anyone recommends an AC compressor brand? I clearly don’t want to spend $800+ compressor from Honda.

Depends on how the compressor has failed. If it's lets go internally, then you may have swarf in the system.

Going to have my mechanic give it a once over next week, if it's dead he'll pull the compressor and refit a replacement. (It'll be his, he did an AC delete on his as he races it)

I would change the dryer and the expansion valve, it's a while you're in there thing. Also as others stated, it depends how much broken compressor went through your system. You'll know once you remove the discharge line from the compressor, or once you remove the dryer.
