AC rattles
Hello all, my S MY01 has started having AC issues.
Whenever I press the AC button it starts
. As the RPM goes high so does the rattling. It only stops when the AC is not being used.
I’ve searched through the forums and I haven’t found a solution yet. Many suggested to check if the clutch is engaged and the clutch does engage on mine.
i just wanna know if anyone has had this problem before I spend money on a new compressor.

If it is in fact AC, From my experience that sounds like the bearing that is pressed into the housing. I have had success with taking off the pulley and removing the bearing grease cover, cleaning and reapplying the grease. Removal of the bearing did not seem feasible to me with compressor attached to system.
edit: just listened again, are you sure that is AC?

Pull the serpentine belt off (takes 2 minutes), spin the various pulleys by hand, and listen for bearing noise.

do I need any special tools to be able to remove the bearing from the pulley?

The AC on this car makes it sound like a diesel, even weirder, the noise the AC makes resonates with the clutch. If you press the clutch pedal, the diesel like noise goes away. It even happens with a brand new compressor.

The weather got a little better so I decided to work on the car. All the pulleys sounded perfectly fine to me including the compressor pulley.
The rattle only comes on when the AC clutch is engaged. Here is the
to support that. I also checked the PSI on the refrigerant lines and they all seem to line up with what the service manual and people on the forums have stated. I’m at a loss here.

Are both fans spinning, are the blades hitting anything?
