AC Delete Question
Hey guys, I'm new to the S2000, and I'm pretty sure I know the right course of action from searching but wanted to be sure.
I have an '02 AP1 and want to delete the entire AC system. I've done this before on all my other "fun" cars, and with the S being a convertible it's a no-brainer for me. I would like to take it to a shop to purge the system. However, the serpentine belt I have is shot and has cracks showing, so I want to replace it immediately, and I don't want to replace it twice.
Would it be ok to order a shorter AC delete serpentine belt and just bypass the AC compressor until I can have it purged and removed?
Would an OEM CR AC delete serpentine belt work on an AP1?
I'm pretty sure I can, but like I said I just want to be sure for peace of mind. Thank you in advance.

Unless you absolutely never use it or its a track car id leave it in. The ac when its off doesnt really draw any power from the engine because of the clutch. Only real benefit is weight reduction and I forget the amount of weight. You can leave it on with all the hoses off just undo the connector for it and plug the lines up.

Just to follow up, I installed the belt without issue and routed it around the compressor. Fit perfectly.
Man...that was the easiest belt change I've ever done...thank you Honda. Now I just have to evac the AC and remove it.

It's R134A, just crack a line...it's really not too bad for the environment. A shop will charge you to recover your refrigerant and may very well end up re-using it and charge the next customer full price
