It's illegal to vent R134A to the atmosphere.
The is no way verify the system will hold a vaccum to all the moisture is out before charging it.
There is no way to accurately measurethe charge weight.
That's 3 good reasons you shouldn't screw with the AC on your own.

So its pretty much as bad as it could be...
I need a whole new compressor. I took it to a place by my work, and the guy was pretty cool telling me hes always wanted an s2000 and bla bla.
A minute later he found the problem the whole clutch assembly on the ac compressor is gone! I didn't notice it yesterday because it looks flush and clean that nothing belonged there. It must have popped off and hit the hanger which put the hole in my exhaust. I got the hole in the exhaust weld shut, 25 bucks and he did it about 2 minutes haa.
I called the stealership just to see what they had to say, 800 for the compressor 250 for labor. Ive been looking around and most places for a new oe compressor are 500-600. My buddy said he found a site that said 350. i can't check it since im at work and so many web sites are blocked, luckily s2ki is not.
Im furious, mainly becuase thats alot of money to me right now, and i was saving up to put my clutch in. And i don't know why it happened to begin with. We've all floored the gas with the ac on, now im scared to do so.

^You unlucky guy. I bought an entire set (minus the compressor part you need) for ~100 bucks from a guy parting a wrecked S he bought for a AE86 swap. Im sure I couldve got the compressor for sub 100. Look for a guy doing a track-car. Good deals, sometimes
