Default ABS light won't reset

I got a code for ABS DTC:14 which is the left front sensor. I eplaced it and then I got DTC:42 for the left front pulser. I then reset the ABS again and DTC: 14 came back. I am wondering if there is an issue with the sensor's distance to the pulser. I already checked for pad drag and that is not an issue.

Anyone have feedback or comments?

You sure your wires are good?

I replaced the sensor wire, so unless it's the wire from the ABS brain to the sensor itself- I'll check that tonight...

Check the tone wheel for damage, make sure the sensor is mounted flush in the knuckle.

So I cleaned the LF pulser and re-installed the sensor. Cleared the code and the light is gone.

However, now at <15mph it feels like the ABS is prematurely triggering. Symptoms are irregular and hard pedal feel followed by grinding, noises. I thought perhaps something was rubbing so I re-checked-nothing visible.

Next thing I did was remove the ABS fuse to see if disabling the entire system would do anything. Symptom went away. Does this mean it's the ABS module? There is no ABS light indicated when the fuse is in, but the symptoms persist...

Make sure the pulser does not have any damaged/missing teeth.

Pulser is fine. If it was damaged there would be a code for it.

Dont be so sure of that! Ive seen on a few occasions damaged pulser rings throwing abs wheel sensor codes. The abs system is not as smart as some people are led to believe and can be tricked easily!
