? about any S2000 problems...
New to the forum. Looking to maybe purchase an s2k. Was wondering if there are any known problems/defects with this car? Any years to stay away from? I'm asking because right now I drive a Lexus SUV and found out after the fact that they have problems with their trans, emissions sensors and at times engine amongst other smaller things. Let me tell you the $$$ add up. I didn't do my homework previously so here I am doing some research. Also, driving wise the cabin looks alittle tight for extended trips. How is it for long distance driving/commuting? I'm not a big guy, 5'10" and it'll be used as a daily driver. Hope you can help me and maybe convince me that this is a great car although I'm almost there. Hondas and Acuras have been great cars for me in the past so I'm partial to them. Thanks for any help.

Over the years the cars have gotten slight updates and refinements, progressively getting softer and more luxurious (relatively speaking of course). Any small "problems" with the car have slowly been resolved over the years, but there aren't any major problems. You can look through this forum to find any recurring issues people are having. Be sure to check the FAQ's as there is an abundance of information to be found there. I believe S2k Talk has a FAQ that covers the difference in model years, which is good to read if you're unsure of what year to get.
I daily drive my supercharged 2001 with 74,000 (about 50,000 boosted) with no real problems.
