99 s2 coil/spark plug problem
Hey guys, Iv got a problem with my sprak plug tube, there seems to e no thread left according to my mechanic as the cylinder has detonated the bottome part of the spark plug was melted off and the coil was also melted a bit. We got a new thread done from another guy whos known to make new ones and put in new plug and coil. the car was runing fine for a couple of days till recently. i thing the same thing has happened again as there is the same noise coming from the engine. if the new thread isnt holding the plug in what should i do any feedback is appreciated.

You may need a new cylinder head if you can't get a helicoil/ threadcert to stay. If the spark plug seat was damaged enough, you'll never get it to seal right, and will just keep melting parts.

Depending on having the plug blown out enough, you might have even damaged the cylinder wall, something to look at when the head is off. Taking the head off and replacing it is a big job that needs to be done 100% correctly by someone that knows what they are doing , otherwise it will be a bigger and more costly issue
