90w for diff? Got it!
OK, for you by the book-niks, and for you racers, I found a straight-grade 90w GL-5 gear oil for the diff.
It is a Lubrication Engineers product - the sales rep is bringing me a coupla quarts. It is a GL-5 mineral base with LE's exclusive additives. The rep told me it was in Dale Junior's diff at Daytona. LE oils are also widely used by Nascar teams.
LE also makes a 75w90, but it comes in 5 gallon pails only - so you will have to come to Road Rage for that service.
I have a case of the 10w30 synblend on order.

Finally, a rearend lube that lubricates the orifices without gunking them up too badly. Long have I been searching for such a product that facilitates my need for mineral-base lube with a high tolerance for friction. Thank you, Road Rage.

gernby: it will never shear for one thing. It is Honda's recommendation, and widely used in racing circles. I think the big promise is the additives - go to LE's website and check it out. They claim the same burnishing and smoothness of Royal Purple, but have 10x the credibility in my book.
I will know better after I examine and test it - we can pretty much back engineer it, unless they use masking substances (well, we do in our products, but they really cannot). There is no hiding from a MS.
