F22 actually go to 8300 and if they did a motor swap they didn't have to change the ECU for it to run. In which case it'll go to 9K without hesitation. Some AP1 F22 conversion guys run the old ECU and claim no issues with 9K red line.

^^ Maintenance before modding man, or fix problems instead of making new ones with added parts. No point in making your car faster or somthing if you cant even redline it.

stupid suggestion but putting it on a dyno hooked up will give you an outside opinion on whether or not your hitting 8000 or 8200 or 9k. I've never heard of the dash lights being faulty but I would assume its possible.

im sure its the ECU. i mean when the engine is cold and you try to vtec it stops you at 6k. and you say its stopping at 8k. so maybe you have a ap2 ECU and you are hitting "fuel cut off"
