60k service? tensioner change?
I have a MY00 with 59k miles and am planning on doing most of the service myself (plugs (NGK 7746????), oils, and fluids etc.
A local shop recommend changing the tensioner. Priced at $190 for part and instal?
Necessary? Good price?

If your car doesn't sound like a diesel when you start it up, ie the tensioner is not making noise, then you don't need to replace it.
And the install is very easy...takes like 10 min.

Don't let dealership do anything to your car its a waste of money.
All the service you can do yourself.
I would change your oil....
Your MTF(manual transmission fluid)
Your rear differential fluid.
your brake fluid and clutch fluid( they use the same fluid)
you should be good for 60K
You don't need to replace the tensioner until it sounds like a card or something stuck on a bicycle tires..... you will know if its the tensioner once you start the car and it sounds annoying and loud iono its distinctive you will know.

Valve adj wouldn't hurt. I've found it's good to adjust them every 30k miles. Should cost about $100...if the dealer wants more, then post up in your local s2ki forum to ask for a shop recommendation...it is not so complex a task that a competent shop can't handle safely.
