Default 5th intake journal and cam eaten up

In the process of replacing a blown head gasket I found that the 5th intake journal and cam are eaten up. Can I just replace the upper and lower journal and have the cam resurfaced? I really don't want to have to buy another cam.
I have pics but are trying to find a way to upload.

Any help will do. Thanks in advance

You need to replace the uppers and lowers as a complete set of 5 pairs. Replacing just one pair will not work, or at least will not last. I wouldn't try having the cam resurfaced as you'll greatly increase the oil clearance which could result in low oil pressure in other areas which would cause another failure. Used good condition OEM cams can be had for pretty cheap, so that's what I'd do. Find a full set of cam holders and a new intake cam and you should be good to go.

So just replacing the intake cam with one used will be ok to mix with paired used journals and the existing exhaust cam?

Yes sir. So long as all 5 pairs of cam journals/holders are replaced. They in their entirety are a set. Not just each pair. They are line bored as a set for the cam. So if you use one pair with another 4, that one pair may not be on the exact same position as the others causing issues.
