Default 5 instead of 5.1 quarts of oil? or Exactly 5.1

Since the engine calls for 5.1 quarts of oil, I hate wasting a whole bottle of Mobil 1 just for the last 0.1 drop... what do you guys think is the best option:

1) Don't drain completely and just add 5 quarts

or

2) Put in 5.1, sealing the last bottle for next use (months of storage of an open container...bad?)

I let it drain for an hour or so, and then add 5 qts of fresh oil. It brings it to the full mark every time (assuming you are changing the filter too).

I let it drain for 30mins or so

I put 5.1, that gives me about 3~4 x marks. I keep the rest and use it on my 4runner.

I think its good to have an extra oil in your garage, also oil will be fine to use on your next oil change.

I add whatever it takes to hit the middle of the hash marks. It doesn't matter if it's 5 or 5.1. Use your dipstick, that what it's there for. If I have a partial bottle leftover I toss it in my trunk for an emergency and then use it on my next change. Oil isn't breaking down sitting in a bottle in your trunk, especially synthetic.

I fill mine to the full mark on the dipstick and use any leftover to slick my hair back and go for a ride with the top down.

This is an exceedingly vital and critical issue that will safeguard your engine. You simply can't be too careful about exactly how much oil you put into the engine. I always finish off an oil change by adding the last few drops with a finely calibrated syringe. While looking at the oilpan with an X-Ray machine, I'll add oil drop by drop till the level just kisses the bottom edge of the full mark on the dipstick.

Variation in ambient temperature when changing your oil is probably more than .1 quart difference on the dipstick. I just use 5 quarts but drain every drop I can out of the bottle.

I let it drain for like 30 mins and then add 5 quarts.

I end up using that 6th bottle to fill some oil that gets burned anyways
