5 bars, overheating?
Hey there,
I had five bars on my temp gauge on the way to work today after about ten minutes of easy freeway driving. I have never seen the temp gauge go that high so I was kind of worried. Then when I got to work, there was a little smoke or steam coming out from the sides of the hood. As I was pulling into my parking lot the temp went from five to four again, but I am wondering what might be the problem. Any insight would be greatly appreciated, thanks

Wait until it cools off and check the coolant level.. it is probably low. You can top it off with water and probably get a ways but really need to find the reason it is losing coolant.

5 bars = engine about to grenade. Check water and oil levels ASAP. Even on track in 110F heat, I never see over 3 bars.
