Default 4.77s and supercharger/turbo?

Hello everyone
Im new to the site and this is my 1st post. I cant seem to find much info on running the 4.77 gears with a supercharger or turbo. I want to do the gears now ,but down the road I will be going FI. I did a search and couldn't come up with much. I only drive the car on the weekends and once in awhile durning the week. I just want something to give me a edge on the streets.Would this be a good combo for street driving? And what time could I expect in the 1/4? Any info from owners with this combo would really help. Thanks a lot guys

here you have information / impressions from the 4.77

4.77 is very short final ratio plus a Sc/Turbo you are going to spend the whole day changing gears

I would recomend 4.44.

BTW 1/4 is not for what this car has been made, is more a track car, if you got more than 300 at the wheels.. you will break your differential doing hard luanches

you would be changing constatly. try the 4.3, I think that would be a good compromise. Also, your car would just (as cjb80 once told me) "squat and sh!t itself" with gears and a turbo, ie spin and spin and spin the tires. But, they are a good idea because suppoosedly, they are stronger. the 4.77 are way to agressive with both, the 4.44 or 4.3 would be better. -Anthony

4.44's. Many members on the board with SC S2000's have the 4.44's, and they say it is a awesome combination.

I also have a s/c in my car, what is the stock gear ratio? Is the 4.44 or 4.3 longer than stock to take advantage of the force induction?

Thanks!

I think stock gears are 4.14.

Thanks!! So what you are saying is that running a even shorter gear 4.44 will help the power delivery of the S/C?

If so, this might be a mod I have to look into...

Except, all I can say is that with the stock gearing, after Vtec in 1st gear, I don't usually fall out of Vtec after that if I take it all the way up to 9K... So what is the benefit of the shorter gear?
