just got my 4.77's installed on my ap2. i know that 16% more power? or torque? with the 4.77's. i have a k&n drop-in berk test pipe and exhaust. how much of an increase to the wheels am i looking at?

I know the gears don't give any power. I meant increase percentage wise.

16% of 200 is 32. Just don't go around telling people you have 32 extra horsepower because someone will eventually know that you're full of bs

it would be LIKE having 32 hp correct not actually having 32 hp?

I'm guessing 16% comes from (4.77-4.1)/4.1 = 0.67/4.1 = 16.34%

Its not an increase in hp nor torque. It's a 16.34% increase in gear ratio, but I don't know how exactly that translates into acceleration gains percentage-wise, whether or not you actually accelerate 16.34% faster... I don't know. It all sounds logical, but we'll have to wait for an expert to come to this thread

^yep. It'd take around 30 hp to equal what the 4.77s do for you in terms of acceleration.

Wow , how do you like the 4.77s on your Ap2??

must be short as hell.

4.77s are not any stronger than stock right? OEM gear?

4.77's dont seem short at all. esp with the ap2 tranny. i didn't even really notice a difference untill i started racing people. 500 rpm difference at cruising speed isn't that big of a difference to me atleast. i thought it would be overkill but acceleration pre-vtec is way better. wouldn't have gotten any other gears.
