4.77's = faster accel above 60mph?
A number of people posted that the 4.77's would only be faster under 60mph, I'd guess because it would make your 4th gear like a stockers 3rd. You'd just be in a higher gear with no mechanical advantage.
Somone must know if this is true or false.
Please fill me in, I really am thinking about getting a set of 4.77's
Is a 4.77 s2k faster than a 4.10 or a 4.44 in the top 3 gears? Or does it just apply to the lower gears?
For those of you who got the 4.44's and wanted to swap for the 4.77's, why did you want to do this?
Thanks,
Ed

The 4.77's would be faster, but not much faster than 4.44. There is a point where aerodynamics become the biggest factor... not mechanical advantage.
FWIW. 4.44's put your 4th gear redline around 110 which is the typical ending gear (and speed for modded S2000's) for the quarter mile. If you had 4.77's you would have to shift into 5th.

Assuming the rev limiter truly cuts in at 8900 it seems the 4.77 would result in max speed in gears of:
37
56
77
99
119
142
IMO a bit too much gearing, but you would get to use 6th in town a lot more.
