4.57 and Comptech lightweight flywheel
Hey guys,
Did a search and I am a bit perplexed. I purchased my second s2k with a vortech sc, act clutch, comptech light weight flywheel, and rick's 4.57 gears, and yellow box. The clutch is great and not slipping. The yellow box was set to 13% with stock ap1 wheels and tires using a GPS. The speedo checks out with a couple cars dead on. Anyways, if I take fourth to redline it reads 99-100 before I shift to fifth and if I let it hit the limit it reads no higher than 101. I was under the impression from searching that the 4.57's will do 104 mph in fourth (the na guys brag about this being the best gear for the quarter mile because you dont have to shift to fifth) and that it would do 154 mph topspeed. Well mine only does 148. I was wondering if the flywheel could be affecting this or if somehow the car has 4.57's?
Thanks.

Changing final drive means changing your ability to hit some limit. You changed from stock (4.1) to 4.57 (in case redline still 9000) - it means your max speed reduced from 155MPH stock, so no way 154 on 6th gear.
It has nothing to do with flywheel. Flywheel affects you dynamic, not your max speed limit. Flywheel is an inertia that helps you to hit that limit.
Also, search on the forum or just google some gear/mph calculators, it might help you to understand how it calculated and why max speed on each gear reduced.

after looking at the turnzero calc, you should be at 104 if redline 4th. bang the rev limiter and look at the speedo. if your off, then check, your tire size , might be undersized, or your yellowbox is wrong. good luck.
