As a side note, I agree 100% with xviper's comment on changing diff fluid. I change my oil, tranny fluid and diff fluid after every track event. The car doesn't see much street time, but the fluid changes seem like cheap insurance to keeping everything working well. The Kaaz LSD fluid isn't cheap, but then again neither was the LSD.

YS: Did you have new gears when your rear end blew up? If so, were they damaged? I'm still trying to figure out if I should do the gear swap because I'm not sure what would happen to them if the diff blew up.

Fyrestrike, if you drive the thing like the ass end is on fire all the time, then you will eventually break something, whether it be something in the diff, the CV joints, the tranny, whatever. If you restrain yourself to a "blast" now and then, you should enjoy trouble free motoring for a good while. (And do the fluid changes regularly.)
I've had my 4.44's since last fall and the Vortech for over 3 months and the car is solid (touch wood).

I'm sure that's the case with the J's gears, but I think the gears offered by Rick's are manufactured by the same company that makes the OEM gears.
