4.44 Final Gears
Question:
The 4.44 final gears certainly do not increase hp and don't add torque. So is the quicker acceleration a product of a more effecient transfer of hp/torque from the motor to the wheels?

4.44 gears do not affect engine horsepower.
4.44 gears affect the torque going to the wheels.
If you wheel dyno a stock S2000 and one with 4.44 gears, the 4.44 gearset will give you higher numbers.

rwd is right. One of the things that a lot of "dyno racers" forget is that the tranny is a torque multiplier and what really matters is torque at the wheels, not at the crank.
