3rd Gear Vibrations
Traveling with the "S" and have a bad vibration in 3rd gear and 4th (but not as bad).
Basically at 4000 rpms and higher in third the car bibrates like your on a really rought road, the car holds the gear fine and accelerates fine but the vibration is really bad.
Any help would be appreciated, i can get the car back home with 2 to 4th shifts but i would really like to know what going on.
Car is an AP1, pretty much stock with 66K on it raced a few times per year.
Thanks!
Andy

sounds like maybe shifter bushings? i'm not sure, i've never taken that stuff apart (yet!).
bushings are an easy fix on the FWD hondas that i've had - - can't imagine them being hard on our cars either.

While you're here... how do you check the tranny fluid level? (sorry cleaned out my compartments last time i was at the track and didn't put my manuals back in).

If its only 3rd and 4th its prob individual gear/syncro dependent. If 5th and 6th are still ok you should be fine to drive it back home, just take it easy. No hard shifting or accelerating.
No real way to check the trans fluid level, its not really something you burn so the level should be fine as long as its not leaking out somewhere.
Andy give me a call if you want.
